Bulgaria and Ukraine  were back and have given us some great music but there's always some who don't wanna play anyway.
Hungary chose to stay home this time. The reason given is that they want to use the A Dal contest (which was used as the preselection for Eurovision) to support national artists. Okay.....

Our Kati Wolf / Wolf Kati had a song in the competition

Montenegro also opts out this year. Lack of finance and not being very successful are mentioned as reasons.
